The company that I work for is looking for native speakers of the following languages:
Italian, Spanish (Castillian), French, Dutch, and German.

An additional requirement is a good knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet and experience making phonetic transcriptions; knowledge of phonetics is a big plus.

We would like your help creating phonetic data for your native language so it could be used to improve the capabilities of speech recognition software. This software is being designed for use in Europe (hence the desire for native speakers of European varieties of these languages) and will be implemented on various devices so you could, for example, talk to your in-car navigation system to ask for directions, ask your radio to play a song or a channel for you, ask your phone to dial a specific number, etc.. In short, we'd like you to provide phonetic transcriptions of words in your native language. These words are usually town names, business names, sports teams, bands, etc.--stuff that's usually not included in dictionaries.

I did the same work for US English about a year ago and it works the following way: you'll be e-mailed a list of words to transcribe, create the transcriptions, send the list back, get money for your work, receive another list. Having done this exact job, I'm speaking from experience saying that this is a GREAT job for students. You can work whenever you want to, from wherever you want to, at your own pace, if school and other jobs are killing you with business, just let us know, the folks that I work for are very understanding :)

If you're at all interested, please contact me at: annas7 (AT) u.washington.edu (please put something like "Native Speaker Job" in the subject so I don't miss ya)

Thank you for your attention, I really appreciate it!
